A Wells Fargo Lawsuit For Calling Cell Phones

If you are someone who recently received a Wells Fargo lawsuit for calling cell phones, you might be wondering if there is anything you can do to help your case. You aren’t alone, as thousands of people have been affected by the same thing. While you can certainly try to fight your case in court, a judge might not be as forgiving and will probably side with the company. This doesn’t mean that you can’t do anything at all to help your situation.

In fact, you should do everything you can to try to avoid a lawsuit.

Let’s say you were on the receiving end of a phone call from a person you don’t know. Your first instinct might be to ask who it was, or to call back to ask who they were. When you do either of these things, you’ll probably just get the person’s number, which is helpful to no one. The problem is that the person could be using a cell phone, and then they could put you in even more trouble when they call again.

You’ll want to avoid answering the phone, and that means you’ll want to have an alternative phone number.

You could keep your name and number of services you provide, or simply use a different number. Some people choose not to use their real name, because they don’t like the stigma. While you should certainly respect other people’s privacy by using your name (or avoiding using your real name altogether), you shouldn’t have to share your number with everyone. It’s much better to keep your number private, and to only reveal it when it’s absolutely necessary to do so.

Also, try to keep from picking up the phone and dialing the number.

Most cell phones allow you to block people from calling you, and many allow you to see who is calling you through caller ID. If your number isn’t listed, and you think that the other party may be calling you via that number, then call them back a number of times, and ask who they are. If it’s someone else, and they refuse to say it’s an error, then you can report them by phone call, or by writing a formal complaint in a legitimate outlet.

You also have the right to take legal action against anyone who harasses you through phone calls.

You should write up a formal complaint, which you can send to Wells Fargo through the Better Business Bureau. They will forward it to the attorney who has your lawsuit, who will assess it and decide whether you have grounds for a lawsuit. It could be nothing, or it could be an expensive lesson for that person to get.

While the above is not an exhaustive list of what you can do, it should give you a good idea of what you can do if you have received a phone bill from Wells Fargo that contains a phone number you do not recognize.

Also keep in mind that this doesn’t just apply to toll free numbers – non Toll Free numbers that are assigned to a home phone can also be targeted through a phone call. Whatever your case may be, it’s worth taking the time to seek out an attorney who deals with these types of cases to find out your rights.
